AI Data Usage Policy

How we process, store, and use your data

Our Commitment

Ethercam is committed to protecting customer data and being transparent about how we use AI. We do not train our models on customer data. Images submitted to the Vision API are processed solely for the purpose of fulfilling the API request and are not stored, logged, or used to improve our models.

Data Processing

When you submit an image to the Ethercam Vision API: (a) The image is processed in memory by our AI models (currently OpenAI GPT-4o). (b) The image is not stored on our servers after processing. (c) Usage metadata (request count, tokens used, response time) is retained for billing and analytics. (d) The image content itself is never logged or retained.

Model Training

Ethercam does not use customer data for model training. This includes: images submitted to the API, API responses generated for customers, customer account data, and usage patterns or behavior. Our AI models are pre-trained and do not learn from customer usage.

Third-Party AI Providers

The Ethercam Vision API is powered by OpenAI's GPT-4o and GPT-4o-mini models. When you submit an image, it is sent to OpenAI for analysis. OpenAI processes the image under their API data usage policies. As of our last review, OpenAI does not use API data for training unless explicitly opted in. You can review OpenAI's data usage policy at openai.com/policies/api-data-usage.

Customer Rights

You have the right to: (a) Know what data we process and why. (b) Request deletion of your account and associated metadata. (c) Opt out of any non-essential data processing. (d) Receive a copy of your account data in a portable format. To exercise these rights, contact privacy@ethercam.com.

Policy Updates

We will notify customers of material changes to this policy via email and platform notice. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
